CASFish

Ecosystem-level, AI-Based Modeling for Ecology and Fisheries Management

This project focuses on ecosystem modeling for fisheries management by treating the ecosystem and the human-ecosystem interactions in the Gulf of Maine as a complex adaptive system (CAS). It is a large, multidisciplinary, multi-organization project. The project is centered primarily in the School of Marine Sciences at UMaine under the direction of Professor James Wilson. It involves researchers from SMS, MaineSAIL (Roy Turner), UMA (Larry Whitsel, a recent graduate), Unity College, the Darling Center, Colby College, and elsewhere.
